Reshmey Medical Clinic was named " Reshmey" after Dr. Tharakan's wife who has been a pillar for the clinic. As a surprise anniversary gift Dr. Tharakan made the announcement of the clinic's name.
Reshmey means " Ray of God's Light " - like a ray of hope for all those who enter here. The clinic has been blessed with our area Pastors and has been a welcoming home for all those who seek medical treatment.

GREAT PHYSICIAN!
David K Tharakan, M.D.:Dr. Tharakan was born at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, better known as Harvard, in Boston, MA. He earned his bachelor’s in biology at Brandeis University in Boston, did research at The University of Massachusetts Medical Center on Anti- Rejection Medication, and did his Masters in Applied Physiology at the esteemed Chicago Medical School in North Chicago. After living in Chicago for four years and completing his rounds and medical degree at the famous Cook County Hospital in Chicago, he then moved to San Antonio and did his residency in family practice. Dr. David, as he is so often named, completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University Of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Tharakan graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Residency Program on July 1, 2000. Dr. Tharakan started working for Dr. Salar Aziz on August of 2000 as a family doctor. As of Nov. 2003, Dr. David Tharakan went in to solo family practice and founded Reshmey Medical Clinic along with his wife, Reshmey Tharakan, on the Southside (at 6111 South Zarzamora St.) and the north side (3200 Nacogdoches) in San Antonio. Dr. David Tharakan moved his two practice locations to one location in Stone Oak on Feb. 2006 and is currently at the Stone Oak location 6 Days a week!

Reshmey Tharakan: Reshmey Rachel Tharakan is a true Texan and entrepreneur; she has lived in San Antonio for 29 years and has seen the development and cultural expansion as well as the zest of life that makes San Antonio home to so many families. Reshmey will complete her PhD in Neurophysics and Masters in Health Administration at The University of Texas in San Antonio. Mrs. Tharakan did five years of clinical research in biomaterials working with resin and bonding agents. One of her several research projects at UTHSCSA with the help of the Dept. of Biomaterials led her in researching nanofiller particles in aiding with cavity prevention. She is C.E.O. of Reshmey Medical Clinic, Josh & Jon Inc., a growing Biomedical Engineering Company, and her joint venture in The Wellness Ranch ( one of the first physical fitness facilities in a ranch that is led by medical professionals and Texas Ranchers in aiding people with weight loss and an overall sense of wellness). The Wellness Ranch was featured in "San Antonio Magazine" 2006-2007. She is an advocate of child based organizations and child safety programs; she started an annual safety fair in 2007: " Family Awareness Day"- this event helps raise safety awareness in the community with government and local institutions. Reshmey is the administrator "Behind The Scenes Person", public relations person, graphic designer, accounting person, manager, full time mother/wife, and busy student yet she makes time for herself, her family, her friends, her community, and her clinic.
Medical Assistants:
Tina Blanquiz- The best in her profession with several years of experience and dedication. When Tina sticks you- you won’t feel a thing!!! She speaks Spanish and is a mommy of three athletic boys and a gorgeous baby girl. She is currently living in San Antonio with her children and dedicated husband.
Aizha Pabon- Graduated from Texas Careers as a Medical Assistant with a 3.94 GPA. She is originally from New York ( which is part of the reason why we like her! ) Aizha is married with one adorable son. Patients have complimented us on her dedication and polite attitude. She is efficient and meticulous- a joy to work with!

Assistants:
Judith Ramirez- The most honest person you will meet! She is dedicated to her work and pulls in extra work if we need her. She is truly a gem to have around! We are thankful for the seven years we have worked with her.
Support Staff:
Tom Goodro- Our newest staff member is also a very educated and highly recognized scientist. Mr. Goodro was a clinical director of a large clinical/research facility in Palm Springs, CA. He has several years of experience behind him in research and development as well as insurance practices. Tom Goodro also heads his own insurance agency as an insurance broker. He provides the best insurance plans to our patients who are in need of good insurance.
Leading Edge Billing- We have billing service questions answered right here in our office. This is a great advantage to our patients. They do not have to wait for hours on the phone with their insurances on what is covered and what is not and if they had met their deductible. If patients are seeking a payment plan- we offer this! In this way patients can pay at their convenience and are not pressured in paying all at once. This service is very advantageous for patients who are in need of financial help.
